New Delhi: Now it will be easy to find lost or stolen mobile phones. Yes, Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday launched a web portal to block and track stolen mobiles in Delhi. This web portal was launched in Mumbai on the basis of a pilot project. And after getting success there, it has now been started in Delhi. A statement said customers can share information with a police to help track stolen mobiles

To prevent incidents, the government launched this new service to curb the incidents of lost or stolen phones, the central government has started the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) project in collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications. Under this project, a 15 digit International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number of all features and smartphones in the country is being entered in the register. If a phone is stolen or lost, the customer can lodge a complaint by calling the helpline number 14422 in the Telecom department after lodging a complaint with the police. After this, the Department of Telecommunications will block that phone-based on IMEI number. After this, the police will be able to track the phone with the help of web portals. According to sources, the CEIR project will be implemented in a phased manner across the country.

Started due to these reasons - The main objective of this project is to reduce incidents of phone theft and block stolen phones on all mobile networks. - Under this project, lost or stolen mobile phones can be tracked and traced again through IMEI. - To prevent the use of stolen mobiles and to prevent the running of stolen mobiles through fake IMEI.

In this way, find the address of the stolen mobile phone - 
First of all, report the theft or loss of your mobile phone to the nearest police station. 
After the number is blocked, 
apply for a new SIM card with a copy of FIR and ID proof. Now go to https://www.ceir.gov.in to block the IMEI number of the phone.

 - On this portal, you have to fill the registration form. - After this, you will get a request ID. - You can use this request ID to track your mobile phone. –

On getting a mobile phone, you can unblock the blocked IMEI and use your mobile phone again.
